The hardware pack was still sealed before these photos. This was originally a GM accessory option for 1949 Chevy passenger cars except wagon or delivery but will also fit 1950 too. The horizontal piece still has an original GM box, but the box is rough. The accessory number for the horizontal bar alone would have been 986233 but it is possible entire kit with uprights could 986243 as shown on that old paperwork just a guess.

Very hard to find NOS this nice. Ship cost shown is for continental US 48 states. New old stock GM part# 3690084 horizontal trunk guard with 3689669 and 3689670 bumper guards to fit it. It had a folded up 'instruction' sheet in the original GM box we thought was little odd - that part number does not show any parts books could find.

Most of those guys do not even own their parts, they are relying on the parts being shipped from some third party IF have them and you know condition until it arrives at your door.
